DESCRIPTION:  \nBCDC is sponsoring a Grant Writing Workshop on Oct. 5 and 6th which is a Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. This will be a 6 – 7 hour class\, split into two sessions. Food and beverage will be provided. The space to be used has yet to be determined but will definitely be in Townsend. Renee Bauer will be the instructor of this the class. Renee is currently with Family Promise of Greater Helena and has been actively writing and successfully receiving grants for years. \n  \nThere will be two workshops with the second’s date TBD\, probably in November. At least the first workshop will be sponsored by BCDC at a cost $1800. To help cover the cost of food and space\, a charge of $35/participant will need to be prepaid to BCDC\, PO box 698\, Townsend\, MT 59644 or you can drop off the $35 at the MSU Extension office in the Flynn Building at 416 Broadway. There will need to be a minimum of 12 and maximum of 15 participants for these classes.  You may preregister for either class by calling 406-202-1050 or email John Hahn at hahnsupply@mt.net or bcdc@mt.net but we will need to receive the $35 before the class start date. First come first serve.

DESCRIPTION:Annual Business Meeting \nThe Townsend Farmers Market has completed 12 successful seasons of serving the community by providing a venue for vendors to sell their wares\, try out new products\, and most importantly provide a supply of fresh local produce\, and baked goods to the community. \nJoin us for the annual business meeting for Townsend Farmers Market will be held Thursday\, January 19th in the dining hall of the Alliance Church at 110 E Street in Townsend adjacent to the post office. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM. \nThe purpose of the meeting is to review the\n• financial status\n• participation statistics\n• operating procedures for the coming year \nThe meeting also provides opportunity to receive inquiry from prospective vendors. \nOur purpose is as follows “Townsend Farmers Market exists to provide Broadwater County vendors the opportunity to market sustainable local produce\, foods\, crafts\, technology\, art and music.” \nThere are a number of small businesses in the form of Cottage Industry operations or even two located on Broadway in Townsend\, who tried out their product at our market\, and now are full time factors in the Townsend economic system. \nContact Chris 406-422-7933 or chris59644@gmail.com.
