DESCRIPTION:The Ruby Valley Boys and Barb Wire is a band made up of several ranch owners and… a woman\, Barb Pearson\, who plays violin and sings. \nJohn and Jim Anderson own and work the Anderson cattle ranch\, on the south end of the\nRuby Valley. Steve\, the guitarist\, manages a ranch as well. Barb is a fine horsewoman\nwho has a Masters in Education and has taught\, and run a day care center. They all sing\,\nand they all love their music and take pride in the band. \nThe afternoon of their first recording session they had already played for the folks in a retirement home in Dillon\,\n50 miles away. The evening of our second session\, they’d been calving all day. The third\nsession\, they’d been branding and tagging. On these session days they still rolled in to\nrecord with good attitudes at the end of a hard day. Oh\, did I tell you why they want a\nCD? Not to sell… they want a CD of the band as it is now in case one of them “tips over.”

SUMMARY:BCDC Sponsoring a Grant Writing Workshop on Oct 5 and Oct 6
DESCRIPTION:  \nBCDC is sponsoring a Grant Writing Workshop on Oct. 5 and 6th which is a Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. This will be a 6 – 7 hour class\, split into two sessions. Food and beverage will be provided. The space to be used has yet to be determined but will definitely be in Townsend. Renee Bauer will be the instructor of this the class. Renee is currently with Family Promise of Greater Helena and has been actively writing and successfully receiving grants for years. \n  \nThere will be two workshops with the second’s date TBD\, probably in November. At least the first workshop will be sponsored by BCDC at a cost $1800. To help cover the cost of food and space\, a charge of $35/participant will need to be prepaid to BCDC\, PO box 698\, Townsend\, MT 59644 or you can drop off the $35 at the MSU Extension office in the Flynn Building at 416 Broadway. There will need to be a minimum of 12 and maximum of 15 participants for these classes.  You may preregister for either class by calling 406-202-1050 or email John Hahn at hahnsupply@mt.net or bcdc@mt.net but we will need to receive the $35 before the class start date. First come first serve.

DESCRIPTION:American Legion Post 42 would like to share the holidays with everyone! \nHere is our schedule of Holiday Events \nVeteran’s Day\, November 11 \n\nVeteran’s Day Ceremony at 11:00;\nFree “Build Your Own Burger” burger bar at Noon.\n\nThanksgiving\, November 24 \n\nThanksgiving is the Legion traditional potluck open to all. Dish sign-up at the bar. Anyone is welcome to donate a dish even if you don’t come to the potluck dinner.\n\nChristmas Stroll\, December 3 \n\nDave Corner will be serving gumbo and clam chowder during the Christmas Stroll.\nAny vendors that would like a table in the Legion Hall can leave their info on the voicemail at the Legion Bar phone number or with the bartender and Mark Boaz will get back to them.
