SUMMARY:Civic Engagement Beyond The Polls: How To Make Government Listen Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Audrey Walleser Martin will present a civic engagement workshop on January 21\, 2025\, at the Broadwater County School Community Room. \nWe will discuss \n– How do you engage your government as the Montana Legalure is now in session? Processes\, testimony\, bill tracking decorum\, etc \n– We will talk about county and local issues engagement\, attending meetings\, decorum\, how to testify\, signing up for updates \n– How to engage national elected representatives? When and for what reason? \n– And a host of other related topics \nThis is a free nonpartisan workshop. We will discuss the processes\, not the issues themselves. \nBio: Audrey is a Montanan who grew up in the Mission Valley. She has held several positions on Capitol Hill and in Montana politics. She has worked on over 100+ campaigns\, from local to presidential races. She has spent time in the Montana Legislature during the last 14 sessions\, ranging from staff to citizen lobbyist. \nHer career in public service spans over 26 years. Rural mental health care is critically important. Being trained to recognize the sign so mental health struggles in our friends and family members can save a life. \nQPR is a suicide prevention training for participants to be able to recognize the warning signs of suicide and question\, persuade and refer people at reis for suicide.
