DESCRIPTION:Tickets are now on sale for Backyards of Broadwater!  The date is Saturday\, August 1st from 10:00-3:00.  Tickets are $5.00 per person with kids 12 and under FREE.  Tickets are on sale at the Extension Office\, Goosebay Glass\, Townsend Hardware\, Townsend Farmer’s Market and Chadwick’s Nursery.  When you purchase your tickets\, you will receive a map\, garden descriptions and details for the tour.  Then you can simply enjoy the tour at your own pace! \nThis year’s tour features yards and gardens stretching from Townsend to the Crow Creek Valley with new locations and returning favorites.  There are six gardens\, highlighting the following people:  Broadwater FFA\, Dwight and Lynette Dyk\, Bryan Flynn\, Wally and Ann Rauser\, Hugh van Swearingen and Nancy Marks\, and Joe and Melanie Weyant.  There is something for everyone on the tour.  You will have the opportunity to see a variety of different gardening styles including raised beds\, hoop houses and a greenhouse.  The tour features both new and experienced gardeners using a variety of innovative techniques such as cover crops\, pollinator plants and low maintenance designs.  You’ll get to see xeriscaping\, native Montana wildflowers\, bird habitat and a butterfly garden.  You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history and methods of making sauerkraut and how to use recycled materials in the garden.  You will get to visit with gardeners who have a passion for working with soil and plants and their trials and tribulations along the way. \nExtra precautions have been put into place this year due to the pandemic to protect our garden hosts and tourgoers.  Each garden will have hand sanitizer and participants are asked to use it before entering the property.  Please remember to social distance whenever possible. The Townsend Car Show starts Sunday with antique and classic cars from Montana & the Northwest to view and vote on. Over 300 cars came last year. \nSaturday Events: Art & Craft Fair\, Live Music and Oktoberfest. \nSunday Events: Art & Craft Fair\, Car Show\, Live Music and Oktoberfest. \nInformation & Booth Rental – Contact Laura 980-1648 — Car Show Information – Contact Jamie 266-4336. The 2013 Fall Fest was estimated at 15\,000 people in attendance. This show sells out fast so return your entry forms as soon as possible or you may not get a booth. This is a juried show so you will be ask to send in pictures of your merchandise with your entry forms\, full payment for your booth rent must accompany your entry forms – no exceptions. We will not hold booths without full payment.
