DESCRIPTION:Historic Churches Tour \nA free concert of J.S. Bach’s solo works for violin will take place at the Canton Church on May 28\, 2021. This program is presented by Baroque Music Montana\, and features violinist Carrie Krause. The performance is intended to celebrate the acoustics and history of century-old buildings\, and is part of BaMM’s “Historic Churches Tour” across southwest Montana. Donations accepted. Limit 30 County health guidelines will be observed. \nConcertmaster of the Bozeman Symphony\, Krause specializes in music from the baroque period\, performing with groups around the county and on international tours. She will be playing a newly acquired violin from 1740 by Mayr\, who made Mozart’s first violin. This program features some of the most monumental and difficult works for the violin\, likely never performed during Bach’s lifetime. \nThe “Historic Churches Tour” is part of Baroque Music Montana’s Bach Roads of Montana series\, celebrating community\, place\, and history in May and June. Events include “Bach on Main” and “Bach at Trails” with musicians of all abilities and ages\, “Biking for Bach” crossing Gallatin Valley\, the “Bach-side of the Sonatas and Partitas” garden lecture\, and complete performance of the solo violin works split June 17 at Old Main Gallery and June 19 at Resurrection Catholic in Bozeman. \nThis live\, public performance will additionally be documented through recordings and photography which will be made available through the Baroque Music Montana website. Limit 30 open to first come first serve limited audience due to pandemic and space limits. More information available at baroquemusicmontana.org. \n

A Christmas tree will be setup in Creative Closet on Broadway. Donations to the foundation in memory of our loved ones will purchase a special laminated ornament memorial bulb to be placed in the window stating for whom the memorial is made.
