DESCRIPTION:MSU Extension in Broadwater County is hosting Master Gardener Level 1 again this year.  This class is typically only offered every other year in the county.  It is an eight week course on Mondays starting on March 2nd until April 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm in Townsend (location TBA).  It is geared towards beginner and intermediate gardeners and covers soils\, fertilizer\, compost\, plant growth\, vegetables\, flowers\, tree and lawn care\, fruit production and integrated pest management.  Participants have the option of becoming a certified Master Gardener by passing a test and completing volunteer hours.  Participants may also take the course just for the material and not become a certified Master Gardener. \nClick Here for Flyer

DESCRIPTION:Planes and ultra lights from all over the state of Montana will gather at the Townsend Festival of Flight for the 4th of July every year. Breakfast will be available for those that fly in or drive in. Airplanes of various vintages will be on display in the tie down area. The EAA chapter of Helena will sponsor free airplane rides for children ages 8-17\, between the hours of 9am and 11am\, with a licensed EAA pilot. Parental permission must be signed before a flight can be done. A courtesy car is available for pilots that do fly in and want to go into Townsend for the city’s 4th of July activities. Other rides into town will also be available. There is a pilot’s lounge and picnic area. Airplane fuel is also available.
