DESCRIPTION:MSU Extension in Broadwater County is hosting Master Gardener Level 1 again this year.  This class is typically only offered every other year in the county.  It is an eight week course on Mondays starting on March 2nd until April 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm in Townsend (location TBA).  It is geared towards beginner and intermediate gardeners and covers soils\, fertilizer\, compost\, plant growth\, vegetables\, flowers\, tree and lawn care\, fruit production and integrated pest management.  Participants have the option of becoming a certified Master Gardener by passing a test and completing volunteer hours.  Participants may also take the course just for the material and not become a certified Master Gardener. \nClick Here for Flyer

DESCRIPTION:The Townsend Fire Department and Broadwater Rural Fire District will be hosting an Easter parade on April 11\, 2020 for the City of Townsend residents. With the intention of boosting morale and maintaining community engagement due to the cancellation of the Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will be riding on a fire engine surrounded by our local first responders. In an effort to maintain public safety and social distancing; we encourage residents to join us on their front lawns and allow the parade to come to you.\n\n\nThe parade will start at 10:00 a.m. and will travel through the streets of Townsend. Specific parade routes to be determined.\n\n\nWorking in conjunction with the Townsend Lions Club.\n\n\nOrganized by Simple Treasures Photography and Townsend Fire Department.
